Contoh Soal Review , Congratulations, Hopes, and Wishes - We often face some happy moments from you relatives or friends. As a social human, we express our happiness of someone’s happy moments by saying “congratulation” and also saying goodwill to them, such as: hope, and wish. In the previous lesson, we have learned about how to express congratulation, hope, and wish, and its usage in certain context of situation. In this section, you will review about those expressions focusing on its usage in the daily conversation. Read the following dialogues!

The above dialogues show you how those expressions used in certain context and situation. In the first dialogue, we see that Ariel hopes he can attend Diana’s wedding. In fact, he didn’t get the invitation yet and hoped he got the invitation in some couples days later.
Dialogue 2 shows two kinds of expressions, congratulation expression and wish expression. Tiara expresses her happiness toward Melisa’s achievement by saying “Please accept my warmest congratulation on your great achievement in the National scientific Olympiad”. We can show that we are happy with someone’s achievement or special moment by saying congratulation expression depends on the context and situation.
Tiara also expresses her wish by saying “I wish I could be like you”. We can use ‘wish’ expression to show our desire on something unreal in the present. Now you will learn in brief how those three expressions used in some context and situation.

Congratulation
We can congratulate someone in his/her special moment both in spoken and written expression. Expressing congratulation shows that we appreciate on somebody’s achievement or special moment. Let’s see the following table:
Hope
We express ‘hope’ when there is a good chance in the future. In other words, there will be a possibility to change the situation in the future. Read the following dialogues:

We express ‘hope’ in the present tense form unless you do not know what exactly happen, you can use past tense form as you can see in dialogue 2.
Wish
We use “wish” expression to show our unreal desire. It is impossible to happen. Let’s read the following examples:
