Folklore and folktale are used interchangeably. Actually, folklore consists of ideas, culture and traditional stories of a group of people, while folktale is one part of folklore. Folktale is a traditional story told and passed verbally from generations to generations. We cannot tell that the stories are real or not. Folktale contains social message which people can relate to. The theme of the folktale is universal value, such as: justice and injustice, patience, royalty and honesty, good and bad.
