Contoh Soal Reading , Understanding Diagram - The following are the list of the deadliest earthquakes occurred in several countries in the world including their scale of the earthquake.
Based on the diagram, it can be seen that:
- Valdivia earthquake occurred in Chile was the most powerful earthquake from the eight quakes given in the diagram. This earthquake occurred in 1960 had almost 10 Richter Scale.
- The second position were Alaska Earthquake occurred in USA and Sumatra Earthquake occurred in Indonesia. The magnitude of those two earthquake were more than 9 Richter Scale but they did not exceed the magnitude of Valdivia Earthquake.
- Then, the third position were Tohoku Earthquake occurred in Japan, Kamchatka Earthquake occurred in Soviet Union and Arica Earthquake occurred in Canada. The magnitude of those three earthquakes reached almost 9 Richter Scale.
- The fourth position was Cascades Earthquake occurred in Canada. It happened in year 1700 with scale more than 8. The magnitude of this quake did not exceed the magnitude of the three aforementioned earthquakes.
- Finally, the last deadliest earthquake listed in the diagram is Nicaragua Earthquake occurred in Nicaragua in 1992. The magnitude of this quake was not more than 8 Richter Scale. Those are eight deadliest earthquakes occurred in several countries in the world.
