Dear Wendy,
I expect that you are packing right now, preparing your luggage and everything. Hope you take something warm to be worn; I don’t know about Vancouver, but it’s quite chilly in Bandung nowadays. I’m afraid I can’t meet at the airport on your arrival next week because I have a game to be played that day. My volleyball team is going to regional competition, and I am the tosser of my team. Here are directions to my house. I’ll send you a map of my area later. From HuseinSastranegara airport, you can take airport taxi, the blue one. Just give the driver my address and he will take you right away. However, if you want to have a little adventure, you can take the public transportation, or “angkot”. First, you must get out of the airport and take 5 minutes’ walk toward railway road. Then, you cross the street, and find green angkot with route St Hall – Cimahi. Get on this angkot and get off in front of a housing complex called “Taman Mutiara”, it’s across Cibabat Hospital. That is the area where I live. Find some “ojeg” driver at the gate, and give him my address. Oh ya, “ojeg” is a motorcycle driver who can take you to your destination with some price. It’s like taxi driver, but it uses motorcycle. So, there you go. You can take a taxi or angkot for more adventure. Have a safe trip now! I’ll see you next week.
Love,
Tazkia.

Malang, April 5th, 2014
Dear Adam,
How are you? I hope you’re getting better now after having that appendix surgery you told me in your last letter.
I got back home yesterday. My family and I had a wonderful time in Bandung. We visited some awesome places, did some sightseeing, ate some delicious food and took some photos.
We went to TangkubanParahu Mountain on our first day. It was really cold but the scenery was beautiful. The mountain has a big crate, and you can see some smokes come out of it. People said that it is an active volcanic mountain. I enjoyed the sightseeing, but I didn’t really like the smell of sulfur there.
Then we went to Crater resort in Subang, it was about half an hour from the TangkubanParahu Mountain. It is a water spring resort where you can enjoy dipping in warm water all day long!
The last natural place we visited before shopping was Dago Pakar Park in Jl.Juanda, Bandung. It is a big conservation park with lots of big ancient trees and some old caves. We went to the caves with the tour guide whom gave us flashlight to see in the dark. I was kind of excited and afraid at the same time. Those caves are quite something!
We spent a lot of time shopping in Bandung. There are plenty of shopping places you can pick. We bought some good not too expensive jeans in Cihampelas and fashionable clothes in Dago and Riau, where we found many factory outlets. We also ate Bandung culinary such as peuyeum, Batagor Bandung, Martabak and KetanBakar. They were all yummy!
Too bad you had to cancel your plan to come and join us in the vacation. Well, I can’t blame you for the surgery anyway. But I do hope that you can join us for the next holiday. I told my parents that I want to be accompanied with my favorite cousin next time.
That’s it for now. Get some rest and get well soon.
Regards,
Eva
