In the first paragraph, there is ‘water sports’. Looking at the word itself, you can find out the meaning that ‘water sports’ is the type of sport that takes place in the water. From the second paragraph, there are ‘stroke’, ‘backstroke’, ‘breaststroke’, ‘freestyle’, and ‘butterfly’. If you read carefully, you can find the meaning of these words in the second paragraph. The last paragraph consists of specific terms such as swimming suit, swimming cap, and goggles. Even though you did not know what these things are, there are explanations about the functions of those equipment, so it will at least give some clues about what equipment are mentioned.
If you are looking for specific information in a text, try to find out the key word of the information that you need. Then, look for that specific word in the text and when you find it, read that part more carefully.
